The Killer Grid Heater Upgrade Kit is purpose-built to address a major flaw in the 6.7L Cummins engine that can result in total engine destruction. The problem lies in the electrical connection to the intake grid heater. When powering the grid heater, 200 amps pass through a small bolt and nut inside the intake and, over time, is known to deteriorate and eventually arc and break off. This nut drops into the engine, leading to extensive damage to the piston, head, and valves. Several solutions are currently on the market addressing this issue, but they are costly upgrades. They drastically reduce the heat available to the engine and typically require tuning, or they don't work well in cold climates. This kit upgrades that flawed electrical circuit by eliminating the problematic bolts and nuts inside the intake while retaining the stock functionality of the heater, and it is cost-effective and easy to install.

Features

  • Eliminates both problematic nuts found in the OE grid heater by fastening directly into the lower busbar
  • Allows for full heat output with the stock intake grid heater
  • Fully emissions compliant
  • Easy installation with minor modification required for 2007-2012 applications (see note in About This Product section below)
  • Kit includes replacement hardware and gaskets, along with special tools required for the job
  • Self-locking threads built into the lower busbar which will prevent the connection from backing out and compromising electrical connection
  • Patent pending
  • SEMA Certification No. SC-BDD01-0135
