VMP designed a larger intercooler and lid to solve the cooling problems with the factory blower once and for all.  This larger lid allows for bigger intercooler bricks and more airflow.  

The VMP by PWR '20+ GT500 5.2 L Apex Race Intercooler is the culmination of two years of intercooler design and testing.  

We recommend the race core for cars making over 950 rear-wheel horsepower.  Below 950 the less expensive street core may be used.

Thicker is not always better, the race core is built slightly thinner than the street core for optimal placement from the SC discharge to the core, and the core to the lid.  PWR's proprietary bar and plate design transfers heat so well the extra thickness is not necessary.

• 28 FPI design for maximum heat removal
• 160 mm wide (stackup) for maximum air-flow 
• 1" water inlet / outlet
• 1" to 3/4" adapters included for stock water manifold or high-flow designs from VMP and others
• Optimal placement from SC discharge port to core and core to lid
• Gen 2 version is 15 mm longer and requires a Gen 2 lid which have been shipping since Dec 2024/Jan 2025.  Gen lids have VMP-APX004 cast into the back and feature a smoother finish and more defined embossing on the front lettering
